Bronx-based artist Wendy Yang designs and builds costumes for productions including Off-Broadway theatre, television, films, commercials, and music videos. Her work has been seen on the cover of XLR8R Magazine, in The New York Times, Teen Vogue, Lucky Magazine, on the Today Show, and The View. She collaborates with creatives on projects from experimental theatre in Bushwick blackboxes to blockbuster film sets.
Wendy combined her interest in design and entrepreneurship to conceive of a variety of creative spaces with different artistic directions- Maiden Hong Kong, an atelier and boutique selling custom-fit vintage clothes and new designs; Amity & Bailey Trading Co, a vintage + modern clothing and music exchange store; and Red Humor Salon, a multipurpose performing and visual arts gallery space.
She recently wrapped the Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark, on which she assisted Amy Westcott, and is currently assisting designer Vera Chow on Eddie Huang’s first feature, Boogie.
